The US presidential election is less than a month away--which makes this as good a time as any to remember that politics isn’t everything. The strangest thing about last week’s presidential debate was that neither candidate talked about the importance of trade. De vreemdste dingen van de afgelopen week presidentiële debat was dat noch de kandidaat gesproken over het belang van de handel.

Senators John McCain and Barack Obama promise change. Senatoren John McCain en Barack Obama beloven verandering. “We’re going to change Washington,” pledged McCain at the Republican convention. "We gaan veranderen Washington 'toegezegd McCain op de Republikeinse conventie. Obama’s old bumper-sticker slogan was “Change we can believe in.” His new one is “Vote for change.” Obama's oude bumper-sticker was de slogan "Change we kunnen geloven inch" Zijn nieuwe is "Stem voor verandering."
