On October 7, former officials representing the presidential campaigns discussed the potential ag policy of the candidates. The Farm Foundation hosted the the forum which was held at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. Urban Lehner, editor in chief of DTN moderated the event.

Former Secretary of Agricuture, John Block, represented the McCain campaign. The Obama surrogate was former Assistant Secretary of Agriculture for Government and Public Affairs, Jim Webster.

In a busy campaign season, agricultural policy is often down the list of items covered in the mainstream news. So this forum provides an insight to what ag policy might look like under a McCain or Obama administration. The Farm Foundation website has an audio recording (MP3) of the event for those interested in hearing firsthand what the gentlemen had to say.
