Welcome to the Global Famer to Farmer Roundtable 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Believing that farmers must work together on a global table to expand access to technology in agriculture to all, Truth About Trade & Technology - an American _base_d non-profit formed and led by farmers who support access to technology, including biotechnology, and freer trade – will host an Annual Farmer to Farmer Global Roundtable in conjunction with the World Food Prize Symposium in Des Moines, IA, USA each October.

Each year, up to 30 farmers from around the world will gather together and participate in the one-day, invitation-only event. Working in conjunction with the World Food Prize Symposium, these farmers will share their personal experiences as they discuss current issues in agriculture, including access to technology, trade barriers and other matters relating to the future of international agriculture and food production.

Dr. Norman Borlaug, father of the Green Revolution, continues to challenge farmers around the world to collaborate- sharing their collective experiences, wisdom and knowledge to support each other and the greater mission to expand the use of and access to technology as they feed the world. He reminds all of us that the ‘successful revolutions of the past can be templates for our actions and a resource to maintain our morale.” In that spirit, The Farmer to Farmer Global Roundtable has been designed to bring together farmers to discuss their experiences, share their triumphs, look for answers to their challenges and support each other through their shared work, message and mission.

For more information on the World Food prize itself, please visit their website www.worldprize.org.

Nominations for the 2007 Farmer to Farmer Global Roundtable are closed. However, nominations can be made for the 2008 event in October (exact dates TBD but usually the third week of October). To nominate yourself or another please follow the _link_ below, and please note nominees must be active farmers.
