There is nothing wrong with the Gates Foundation funding AGRA, a separate organisation headed by Kofi Annan which has declared that it will not use GM but only conventional plant breeding techniques to bring improved seed varieties to Africa.
What is wrong is that, according to industry lobby group Agbio, the Gates Foundation, a seperate organisation to AGRA, is funding GM breeding. Does BIG SEED really need Gates' help in this? Surely not!
So what is Agbio who represents BIG SEED trying to achieve by this silly article? Clouding the issue perhaps? Or is Bill and Melinda really that stupid as to jeopardise the existence of AGRA in Africa?
