A couple of recent pieces in the news highlight the TATT Global Farmer Network, and the 2009 Kleckner Trade and Technology Award recipient.

The January edition of Farm Futures magazine includes 'Which technologies work best?' by John Otte.  He based the piece on the dialogue he heard from the international farmers during the 2009 Global Farmer to Farmer Roundtable (October 13-14, 2009) and interviews afterwards.  The short piece does a very good job of capturing and major points of the event - please read it if you're interested in a good summary of the discussions.

Also, the 2009 recipient of the Kleckner Trade and Technology Advancement Award was covered in The Scotsman for a speech he recently gave at a conference in Carnoustie, Scotland.  Jim McCarthy (Ireland) is truly involved globally with agriculture and has first-hand knowledge of the benefits of biotechnology and the barriers to it's use.  'Irishman scotches ban on GM crops' published on February 5, 2010 summarized his speech in Scotland, and also the strong pro-technology views he holds.
